Mark Vaile is Chairman of the Group. Mark was first elected to the Australian Parliament in 1993 after serving eight years on Greater Taree City Council, including two terms as Deputy Mayor. Mark served as Federal Minister for Transport & Regional Development and Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries & Forestry, prior to taking up the Trade portfolio in 1999.
He was elected as Leader of The Nationals in June 2005 and became Deputy Prime Minister. Mark Vaile was Australia’s Minister for Trade from July 1999 to September 2006 and was responsible for negotiating Australia’s free trade agreements with the United States, Singapore and Thailand. In addition, he led Australia’s drive to free up global trade through the World Trade Organization.
Anthony Chan is the Deputy Chairman of the Group. Anthony has had extensive experience in the field of property developments and investment activities for more than 30 years, mainly in the field of commercial, residential and shopping centers in Tianjin, Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou. He was the Executive Director of Shun Tak Holdings Ltd. from 1991 to 2009.
Anthony is the President of the Hong Kong Association for the Advancement of Real Estate and Construction Technology and a Director of the Real Estate Developers Association of Hong Kong and a Fellow Member of both the Property Consultant Society UK and the Hong Kong Institute of Real Estate Administration. He has been appointed as a member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Guangdong Province since 2002 and a member of 800 members Election Committee of the Hong Kong SAR Government responsible for electing the Chief Executive of Hong Kong.
Ian Tang leads the business development arm of the Group. Ian and partners founded the AustChina Group in 2002 to bring value-added telecommunication and information technology solutions to the Chinese marketplace.
AustChina also provides a Corporate Advisory and Strategic Investment advice for business development and investments in a range of industries. Ian was born and grew up in Hong Kong and undertook his secondary and tertiary studies in Australia. Combining both his heritage and his adopted culture, he has been extensively involved with entrepreneurs and business owners in helping them gain access to markets in Australia, China and other parts of Asia. Mr Ian Tang was selected to be a director of the Board of the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Beijing in June 2012.
